Dog Urine spots

Question
Our dog has urinated on our complex's lawn and has leftnice little yellow patches  We have re-trained our pet to relieve herself in the dirt but we would like to repair the damage she has already done.  We live in Puerto Vallarta, an extremely hot and humid climate.  Any suggestions?   Thank you!

Answer
Hi Nicole;
The reason female dogs burn grass with urine more is NOT because their urine is more acid. It is because males urinate in several places, marking their territory, while females squat and urinate in one spot. Flushing with water after they urinate will help flush the acid through the soil before it burns.
You might try just watering the spot well.
If it is a grass that spreads by runners, it should cover the spot quickly.
If the grass sends up single baldes, or a few blades, and have no runners, you will neeb to pulg in more oof the smae type of grass in that spot.
