Are these eggs?

Question
I first noticed these strange grey dots in a section of my lawn the other day which I thought was some kind of fungus. . Then this morning I noticed new ones that are white and look more like eggs to me. Any idea what these are and is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

Answer
the 1st look like a fungus. the 2nd like eggs or washed off fungus. get to a local garden center/nursery and see what they sell and recommend for for lawn fungus. take a sample(plant and pest) inclosed in a clear plastic bag for them to examine. seal the bag w/a twistem so they don't get out. normally they will recommend a safe fungicide.
start watering properly. you should only water when it is necessary. many people kill their lawn by watering improperly. water in the AM so the turf can absorb the water rather than have it all evaporate(that is what normally happens during the heat of the day). don't water towards evening or the turf will not dry sufficiently before darkness. this creates fungus and mold problems
