New Grass Dying

Question
I seeded 3 weeks ago on a newly tilled and prepared bed.  Seeds sprouted nicely and I water twice a day, early morning and early evening.

I have noticed in one area that the grass appears to be dying off.  It was lush and long and is now turning brown.  Is it getting too much water perhaps?

Answer
Hi Steve;
It depends on what kind of grass you have. Some grasses as well as other plants don't like their feet to stay wet.
Browning off sounds more like it may be a fungus.
the best fungicide I have used is baking soda disolved in water, and spratyed to soak enough to get to the roots, as well as what is above ground.
I just don't have any experience with grass seeds.
The birds always ate almost all the seeds I put down, so for the last 40 years, I have just used sod.
Check with a garden center there. They would know more about the climate, kind of grass you have etc, and what could be causing this,
Did you fertilize?
Just a tad too much fertilizer will burn grass and kill it.
That is one of the things I like best about organics.
If you use sugar and dump a pile in one spot, it won;t do anything but wadste some sugar.
did you use a crabgrass killer?
That stuff usually kills everything, in spite of the fact their labels SAY they won't harm grass.
