yellow areas around trees

Question
i have bermuda sod that was put down about 1 year ago. towards the end of the summer, i started seeing large yellow areas around the trunks to pretty much all the trees in my yard!
i contacted the sod guy..and he said to apply lime..well, went to area lowes and purchased lime, applied, and it didn't help.
again this year, same thing. i purchased more lime and applied. i can'e see visible results. my neighbors yard is the same way.
what do i do to get my yard pretty and green in ALL areas?

Answer
Hi kim;
You don't say what kind of trees these are, and is the grass dieing?
could be a nutrient defeciency, or could be from too much shade.
Trees take up a lot of nutrients from plants growing under their branches, where they drip lines are, and some trees take more than others, also grass needs at least five hours of sun per day.
go with organics, girl.
That is the only way you are going to build soil that has all the nutrients it needs to grow everything you want to grow.
You can't go partly organic, it has to be all or nothing.
If you use an organic program, and them put chemicals down, you undo the benefits of organics.
Read some of my answers about using sugar and other organic remedies for enriching soil.
If shade is the problem, the only way you can handle that is to prune out enough branches to get sun to the grass.
The laternative is planting sun loving ground covers etc, under the trees.
After you read the other posts, write me if you have questions about any of it.
