grass problem

Question
I have noticed several areas of my lawn have what looks like a yellowish white foam.  I was wondering what it is and how to treat it.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Anita;
I have only heard of this once before.
I had a question about something similar a few weeks ago.
I have never seen it, and have no idea what it is.
I would think it is some kind of fungus.
Fungus is usually caused by dampness and a lack of sun, or a dead root, or opiece of scrap wood left under the soil.
The best advice I can offer is to call a local nurseryman and ask what it is.
If they can't tell you what this is, then possibly treat it like a fungus, and soak the area with baking soda disolven in water ( i use 1/4th cup per gallon of water) or get some corn gluten and apply it to the whole area raround where this is occurring.
Sorry I can't give you a more deffinate answer.
Charlotte
