lawn polymers

Question
We recently had lawn polymers injected into our lawn.  I'm now learning that they are actually not so great because they are not injected deeply enough (roots only go as far as the water) and that salt breaks down the polymers.  We have dogs, and I've since learned that there is salinity in urine.  I'm trying to find some concrete answers about this.  It is new technology and chemically I'm wondering if we made a mistake.

Answer
Hi
Liz;
Well, anything you do that is chemical and not organic is a mistake.
I used chemicals for over 40 years before I got smart enough to switch to organics.
I always thought organic meant you would have a lawn that looked natural, like a field or meadow.
I wanted a lush, full manicured lawn.
Well, that is not what organics is at all. Now I HAVE that gorgeous lawn, with none of the problems, and so little labor and expense.
GEESH!!! wish I had done this 50 years ago.
Lawn Polymers is a new term to me.
What are they and what are they supposed to do?
I m going to search that out a bit.
Hope I can find some info on them.
If they are thise little beads that are supposed to hold mopre water to release later, I put those in some indoor plants. they worked fine the first time, swelled up like little toads, but then they disolved.
So, work and expense for nothing. LOl
