The birds are eating all of my grass seeds, how do I stop them?

Hi Dmitri;
That i why I plugged in St. Augustine grass.
All the seeds were eaten by the ^#^)&$% birds.
since then I have learned you can cover the area with stray, just enough to cover and hide the seeds, and the little buggers can't eat it all.
When they grass starts to grow, rake off the straw.
