QuestionMy father use to spread lime under his maple trees every two or three years becouse he said Maple trees made the soil too acidic for good lawn growth. Is this correct? We live in Minnesota.

It would depend on what the PH of your lawn is to begin with.
I don't use any lime. I think it is to make soil more alkalyn. If this is the case, and maple trees make it too acid, then you would need to add something.
Your local gardeners would be the best people to ask. They are familiar with the soils there.
My husband is from Minnesota, but he is not a gardener, and besides he was 18 when he left to go into the Navy, nd hasn't lived there since.
If your dad had a good lawn, then he must have known wnat he was talking about.
