QuestionHello Charlotte,
I just started reading your articles and I must say they are very informative, I am about to start the organic fertilization of my lawn.
My question is in regards to watering lawns. You say you use soaker hoses. Are you referring to the standard soaker hoses which are usually used around the foundation of homes? Are there any other types of soaker hoses I may not be familiar with?
Thanks,
Rick
AnswerHi Rick;
There are two kinds i have gotten. Walmart carries them as well as any store that carries garden hoses.
I have some that are black round tube-like hoses. I lay them out in a pattern, water with them and they can bemoved around in any pattern you want, and can be rolled up and put away. I do have some that I have at the base of the foudation, and I leave them there, and just drag the hose to them and hook them up, when I water, but the others I have to move off the lawn or my hubby will chop them up with the mower.LOl.
the water oozes out from all over that one, and none of it sprays upward.
The other kind are flat and green, with a yelow or white stripe down one side.
the side with the yellow strips has holes all through it, and if you turn the stripe up you have a sprinkler, if you turn the strips down, you have a soaker.
That one is harden to turn around curves and get the variety of patterns you want.
