QuestionI have patches of lighter green colored grass mixed in with my normal lawn. I am thinking its crabgrass but unsure as it is a broader leaf too. How do I rid my yard of it other than pulling BIG patches out?
Thanks
AnswerWhere are you located ?
Crabgrass is a warm season annual which sprouts when soil temperatures exceeds 50-55F for 10 consequtive days. This would be early spring in the north east for example, and the grass plants would "only" becomes visible mid summer. Depending on your location, this may happen earlier or later.
My point is, unless you live in a soutern state with mild climates, It is probably not crabgrass but another grassy weed. Proper identification is required to formulate a proper weed eradication plan.
