QuestionI have a patch of zoysia grass - don't know where it came from but I want to get rid of it. It has taken over flower beds and is growing up thru my shrubs - taller than the shrubs themselves. HELP!!

growing up on shrubs make me think it isn't zoysia. never-the-less cut the weed down off the shrubs. spray w/roundup anything you want to get rid of on the ground. roundup works via systemic foliage contact. it will only kill what plants it touches their foliage. it will kill the root system also. do not get it on plants you want. it is non-selective and will kill most plants. you may have to follow up w/another spray 2-4 weeks later to get any plants you missed. i'm in southern NJ & nothing is actively growing here now, so you wouldn't be able to apply roundup till spring. check w/a local garden center/nursery in your area and see what they advise.
