Thank's,Kevin O'Day
Answeruse same grass type as you have today. If shade is a problem, mixing fine fesuces into a kentucky bluegrass lawn can help.
After planting, water twice daily to keep the seedbed damp at all times without letting it dry out. small frequent waterings is required. Once the seeds have germinated and start to grow, gradually change to an infrequent but deep watering pattern, such as once per week for 2 hours. Do this gradually over a few weeks.
Fertilize before seeding, or when the new grass germinate. Apply fertilizer (without herbicide/insecticides) to a dry lawn (but not water stressed lawn) and water in well.
Good luck.
