QuestionHi Floyd,
'I have white weeds growing in my grass. What are they and how can I get rid of them?
I will provide more information upon request.'
AnswerGood afternoon James:
I am sorry I cannot give you an identification with the information you have provided. I am providing you with a couple of web sites that may help in the weed identification. You did not give me your location so I will assume you are in a "Cool Season" grass area.
Your best bet would be to dig up one of these weeds and take it to your county Cooperative Extension office. They should have someone there that can identify it at no cost to you. They may also tell you what control measures to take.
There are also many annual weeds that after they have been killed off over winter that will become bleached out and white but they are no longer growing.
"copy" and "Paste" each of these sites to your browser and hit "Go"
Weed Identification in the mid west. Make sure you scroll to the bottom of each of the weed pages because there are pictures to help you.

Star of Bethlehem is sometimes found in turf grasses and has a white vein down the middle rib.
