QuestionMy 100% faith in you has soured. In your reply to me dated Dec. 17, 04 you said the following:
"I make my own compost bins. I get a box of construction site clean-up bags from Home Depot.They are much heavier than leaf bags. There are either 50 or 100 in the box. I am still on the first box, and I have been using out of it for about 6 years."
Now three months later you tell me it does not work!
AnswerHi Jimmy;
Do you know that is only the second mistake I have made in my whole like? LOL
Blame my hubby. He was leading me to believe it was working great. Gonna kill him and tell God he died.
Mix about 1/2 a small boz of baking sofa in a couple gallons of water, and pour it all over the top so it will soak down through. Leave it long enough for it all to set soaked with the bakong soda. maybe a day, or at least seceral hours, and then dump it out where you intend to till it in. That should sweeten it. spread it out so it will dry in a day, and then till it in, or just turn the soil over it.
Hope that works, it is an "that probably will work" idea. Or just dump the whole thing.
Now he is digging in the compost from the kitchen, just turning soil over it, and watering it in. He tills it up about every 2 months.
But he is taking so long to build that composter, I think I will order one.
I saved kitchen scraps for ywo years, before he admitted it was soured.
I kept reading articles about the importance of turning the compost over, so THAT WAS WHAT MADE ME ASK HIM,DUH !!
The other articles I had read before didn't say too much about that.
Sorry about the mistake. I will give myself 10 lashes with a wet noodle.LOL
