Klamath Falls OR 97603, elev 4000+, east of Cascades. Question:  (1)Should lawn be cut shorter going into winter or left at the summer long length of 3 1/2+ inches. (2) How do I get rid of moles in lawn; there is no "dirt" mound -- just evidence of tunnels.

Cut the lawn the same length going into winter. There are some discussions as to whether to cut it shorter or longer. I have found best result by leaving it at same length. I can provide an explanation if you like, but in the end it comes down person preference. I also cut our lawn about 3.0 - 3.5" year round.

Trapping is your best option with moles. An exterminator is recommended. Make sure it is moles and not voles that you have.
