QuestionI live in south florida (West Palm Beach) and on the side walk there are 2 huge Mohagony trees that in conjunction with an abocado tree give my front lawn all kind of shade that has killed the sod, I have tried hydroseeding with bahia but after a growth the bahia dissapeared and all I got is bahia growing on the edges but the middle all that grows are clovers.
Since the Mohagony trees belong to the city I can't touch them.
Is there anything I can do?
Or type of grass that I can plant?
thanks
AnswerIt depends a bit on your shade, but in most circumstances ST. AUGUSTINE SOD is your very best option. It does very well in shade. Bahia is much less shade tolorant.
In very deep shade areas, no grass may grow very well. In these areas you may want to create a small flower bed and plant shade loving perennials.
I think you will have good results with st. augustine, however.
