Can you please tell me which yard tool or lwan mower is recommended for cutting lawn on a slope? Also I have a trouble with patches of moss growing in lawn. What do you recommend to get rid of the moss & plant gras seed. Presently we have a toro lawn mower but it's difficult to cut the lwan thta is on a slope. The grass is well established but can't figure out what yard tol would be easy on your lower back to cut lawn on slope

The best tool for mowing hills and slopes is a push-type mower with a power-drive mechanism.  Riding mowers can be dangerous on steep slopes, and should be avoided. Otherwise there are no special tools for this task as far as I know.

If there is not a large area involved, you  can obtain a neat mowed lawn apperance by using a quality string-trimmer and dispense with having to use a typical mower at all except for the level areas.  With some experience, this can work-out quite well on steep slopes that need mowing.

Remedies for the moss causing soil conditions usually involve CULTIVATION and HORTICULTURAL PRACTICES of improving soil tilth, drying-aerating the soil (drainage improvement), solarizing and general top soil soil fertility improvement.  A simple process of adding some SAND to a high clay soil or pruning back the shade sources my help a moss prone soil.  All these strategies can usually eliminate the moss and promote turf grasses.

Garden centers often sell other HERBICIDAL FATTY ACID- SOAP PREPARATIONS as "Organic Herbicides".  These products may be just as effective for moss. Read the product labels to know what to expect and how to use them.

CHEMICAL TREATMENTS can be carried out at any time of year and for best results when the weather is mild and the soil is moist,... particularly during September and February or March.

Look for other chemical "MOSS KILLERS"  based on DICHLOROPHENE and also CRESYLIC ACID. These chemicals are contact in action with little or no residual effect; ...the  moss will usually return if cultural measures  (mentioned above) are not implemented.

A product called "EverGreen Complete"  May be available in your city.
It is advertise as a 'Triple-action lawn food with weed killers and moss control.'
EverGreen Complete contains MCPA, mecoprop-P and ferrous sulphate NPK 14 2 4.
Always read the label. Use pesticides safely.

Other chemicals used for moss problems include:
