QuestionMy grandfather plants a garden in his yard every year but is having a problem with weeds. He sprays with Roundup before tilling but throughout the growing season the weeds return and take over. Does a spray weed killer exist that can be sprayed on a garden without killing the vegetables as well?
Thanks
AnswerDear Chris:
Mind you that what I am about to recommend IS NOT AN ORGANIC Class product. However, it appears you have some latitude in this regard since your grandfather uses non-organic Roundup. Suggest you use a product called Preen which is applied after site tilling, soil preparation, seeding and/or setting sets. Preen is available at most garden supply stores. You simply follow the directions on the product package and sprinkle lightly over the entire soil surface. I use this product, yet I have no equity interest in the company; although I probably should. It is a class product that does an outstanding job of reducing the weeds in your garden.
Best wishes for a successful gardening season.
Sincerely,
Mack Jean
