QuestionVeggie-garden newbie here. I see the occasional pillbug in my raised-bed garden. No infestation problem yet and doubt there will be. Anyway, I've read where these can eat seedlings, but also where they are beneficial to the soil. Q: Should I leave the pillbugs alone or try to get rid of them?

Welcome to the world of gardening! The Pillbug can eat seedlings and I am unaware of their benefits to the soil. I would not worry about their early presence in the garden unless you have an infestation.
