Question -
Is it true beets, turnips, radishes need only 3-4 leaves for the bulbs to reach maturity.

Is it possible to grow two varieties of corn next to each other if I stagger the sowing so that the pollination cycles avoid each other>
Answer -
Dear Rheimler:

In theory, beets, turnips, and radishes should be able to reach maturity with 3 to 4 leaves.  Optimum conditions would be required, ie: proper fertilization, irrigation, etc.  I can offer you no valid references or experiences to confirm this theory.

It is possible to grow two varieties of corn side by side with staggered pollination cycles.  The risk of cross breeding is high due to wind, rain, and other uncontrollable environmental factors with unpredicatble results in crop production.

Sincerely,
