QuestionWe have just moved back to the family farm. We have the room and the equipment and want to plant an acre to sweet corn. We will plant in stages to guarantee a continuing supply of sweet corn for us and the neighbors who will be helping us. What equipment we don't have, they do, so we will be sharing the bounty.
How much seed should we plan on buying?
Thanks, Doug
AnswerDear Doug:
One acre of sweet corn will require approximately 12 to 15 pounds of seed corn. Listed below is a website that will provide some useful additional information on the care and nurturing of sweet corn:

Good luck in your endeavor.....I can almost taste the sweetness in that bumper crop of sweet corn that you will soon be enjoying!
