QuestionI am wondering what's eating my green bean plants. They are just beginning to come up and the leaves have little holes in them. They have not grown any beans yet, but something seems to be eating little holes in the leaves. Is this a pest like an insect or a disease of the plant or something else?
AnswerDear Cheryl:
I think your green beans are being attacked by Flea beetles. These small, shiny, black beetles hop when disturbed. Spray plants with a commercial pyrethrin/rotenone mix if leaves are severely damaged.
