Questioni have recently found some very small(about the size of a grain of sugar)white insects in my bedroom. Me, my partner nor my 6 week old baby who shares the room with us have any bite marks or rashes. You can not see them usually but when either me or my partner have a bright light on they seem to be attracted to it. Please can you tell us what these bugs are and how to get rid of them as i have a 3 year old and newborn in the house.
AnswerMichelle,
These are probably mold mites, also called grain mites (there may be other common names in the UK as well). See http://www.livingwithbugs.com/mites.html for a drawing of these mites. The mites are harmless, they don't bite. However, the mites may indicate a moisture problem which can lead to mold growth and mites. If you find and solve the moisture problem the mites will go away. Post a follow up if you have questions.
