Question
today we saw little black insects on the ceiling, about a group of 12 of them. very small, wondering where they came from we killed them. only after did we see a small green insect that looked just like a catepillar on the inside of our lamp shade. it was about the length of my pinkie. we ran to get a shoe to kill it and by the time we came back it was gone and we didnt see it in the surroundin area. whatever this insect is it is breeding quickly becase the small black insects were not there this morning and there were about 15 of them this evening.

I doubt that the two insects are related. If you post a picture of them I may be able to tell you what they are. You describe the green caterpillar as both "small" and the "length of my pinkie", can you estimate the size in inches? What do the "little black insects" look like?
