Question
I rent a hous in Forest Hills , Ny and I have recently noted large amounts of what I believe to be some type of insect/rodent droppings under my leather pul-out sofa. We generally do not eat in this room and I do not notic them anywhere else. They are ver small and seem thinner than mice droppings. Sometimes the look black but mostly they look grey (maybe after a few days?) They are numerous and reappear within hours after I clean up AND WE ARE ON THE COUCH . It is freaking me out. I am a very clean person. I did not see anything in the couch when I pulled it out but I am afraid something might be living in it. I am going ot move soon. should I chuck the couch? What do you suppose it is? i have no animals.

Can you tell what this material is made of? Is it wood or fibers from the couch? If you post a picture I may be able to get a clearer idea of what it is. One thing you could do is drop some of the material in water and see if it dissolves or breaks apart. Post a follow up and we'll figure this out.
