Flea?
Found two of these on the carpet. Both dead. They look like huge fleas, kind of sand/orange color, and measure 1/4 inch. What can they be? We've been dog sitting for a family member and wonder if the dog brought them in. Would appreciate any information.

Do you live near the ocean? This appears to be a marine crustacean of some kind. Small marine organisms will often be carried onto land during storms. If you don't live near the ocean try to get a closer picture and I'll have another look.
