QuestionI have a huge hole, about 18 inches wide in front of my shed, and large sections of the shed have been scratched away. I saw the large animal, it wasn't a mole, but I'm not sure what it was, going over to the area. I've recently seen a similar hole behind the shed. I don't want to come close to the animal, and I don't want to hurt it. I got some Have a heart granules to put in the holes. Do I put them in one hole to give it a way out? Is this a good way to get rid of them? Will they come back? Other suggestions?
AnswerI would suggest visiting http://icwdm.org and consult its wildlife damage inspection and identification pages. It has tons of suggestions but you need to id the problem first.
Off hand, it sounds like a woodchuck. I am not a big fan of repellents. I would suggest reading and following the label as the label is the law if you choose to use the product.
