QuestionTonight when I came home, I noticed that there was a humming sound on the side of the house. I wasn't sure if it was bugs or the water line running so I walked around the house. As I approached the large boxwood in front, I noticed the same humming sound. I pulled on the branches, but the sound continued. I went back to the side, to the two boxwoods and the sound was the same. Do you know what could be humming in the boxwoods? I live in the midwest (Illinois/Missouri).
AnswerTina,
Sounds like a feral honey bee hive might be in the tree. If you contact a local beekeeper they will probably be glad to come out and collect the hive, at no charge. If you tell me your city/state (or county) I'll help you locate a local beekeeper.
