She said it is making kittenlike noises only at night.Saw it last night on night stand. Black bug about an inch long. She has heard scratching and similar sounds in recent past. She is 90, but lucid and would not make it up.

I can't think of any insects that make a mewing (?) type sound but there are lots of insects that are about an inch long and black. I'll need more information. There are no insects of this general description that are harmful but if she sees it again she should try to capture it so we can get an id. Sorry I can't be more specific.
