ripping tops off my shasta daisys

Question
I just put out two planters with Shasta daisy's on my deck 4 days ago...and today I noticed that something torn all the tops complety off....they were laying around the pots, they were not eaten , the stems and leaves are still fine, just wondering what would have done that...and my other flowers I put out are ok,,,just the daisy's...I also live in the woods so I have lots of squirrels ect....Thanks so much for your help....

Answer
Hi Rhonda,

I really couldn't say for sure, but I've seen deer do things like that. They expect something to taste good and then spit it out when it doesn't. Maybe the flowers looked like something it ate before that tasted good, and it just kept trying to find the good parts. Look for hoof prints near by. If it is deer, I make a great electronic deer deterrent.
