QuestionBelieve it or not I have the pine scale on my skin. Are any of the control measures used on the trees safe enough for humans. I am trying to get pictures now.
AnswerPine scale is an insect that sucks the plant juices from the plant. These look like little turtles attached to the stem or twig. Insect in general are only on certain tree species and do not cross over to another species, exp.--pine scale on pine , oak scale on oaks. IF you had a scale on your skin all that would need to be done is pick it off but there are scaly skin diseases on the skin and these have nothing to do with insects. I would see a dermatologist. Sorry this is out of my field.
