Raccoons can carry a round worm that is in their feces. It is deadly and incurable... people and pets. Then there is parvo virus that is deadly to dogs and cats if not innoculated. Plus rabies and distemper. Rabies being deadly to people as well as pets that are not innoculated. There may be more. If you want to keep raccon away I make a great electronic deterrent.  The model 7277 is the best raccoon deterrent.
