Cayenne Pepper

Question
I noticed some small white worms in some of my house plants. The plants are in planters that don't have the holes - so if I overwater they're quite moist and I think it was because of that. I read online that sprinkling cayenne pepper on the plants will get rid of the worms. Since I've done this last week, the worms dies within a day, but I now noticed that the Cayenne Pepper had gotten moldy and I'm worried that I killed the plants.

Answer
Elle, cayenne pepper, sprinkled in moderation, should not kill the plants. I use it often with much success, especially outdoors to deter rabbits and other critters.

I would wash off the plants and scratch the soil with a small fork to remove the top layer of pepper. Water the plant deeply until it drains from the bottom. They should recover within a couple of days.

Good luck, and please write again if you ever need assistance.

Regards,

Mike
