QuestionI Live on Lake Weiss, in Center, Alabama USA. Due to drought lake is down much more then usual. Beavers have constructed a dam across my boat ramp, and I think under. The Beavers normal area has become dry, least what I can see. Any chance the Beavers will return to their normal home when the water comes back up, as their new home will then be under water? Or will I have to trap? Do zoos take? Killing is not an option. Thanks, S~
AnswerSure there is a chance. How likely is unclear.
Translocation of wildlife may not be legal in your state. You need to do some checking on that. Besides, where would they go? Don't assume that translocation means no death. Translocation can be very lethal. See http://icwdm.org to learn why. Control information is also there. If legal, you might, and I mean might be able to harass them away. Details on the site.
Links to your state's dnr is also a possibility. Not sure why harvest is not an option. I am pretty sure alabama has a season on beavers. Sounds like a win win. Find a trapper. We have names of people on the site that might be able to help. Be sure to vette them first as we don't screen.
