Bees on Plants

Question
The Cotoneaster plants in our small front garden have always attracted a few bees, but this year it is out of control. There are now at least 2 dozen bees at any one time around both of the plants. This is now presenting a hazard, especially to our children and anybody passing our house.

Can you suggest an solution?

Thanks so much

Answer
Jackie, you can purchase a bee trap at any home improvement center or nursery. Basically, these are contraptions made of yellow glass with a plastic base. You fill the base with sugar water, which attracts the bees. They enter through the opening in the base, but cannot exit once inside. I have used these in the past, and they are very effective.

I hope this answered your question. Good luck, and please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Mike
