QuestionHi
I live in The San Francisco Bay area of Calif. I think I have a grub & Racoon problem. My lawns have been dug up, I believe by a Racoon, and I have see grubs in the past. I found some paw prints that look like Racoon, and the lawn is peeled back to the first layer of dirt. Not dug into like a dog would do.
How do I keep the Raccoons away? Get rid of the grubs, right?
How do I get rid of adult grubs this time of year, and what can I use to keep them gone?
I have pics of the paw prints and it would be great if someone could confirm that they are Racoon. I'll need an email address to send the pics.
Thank you
AnswerIf you already have wildlife eating the grubs then grub control is a little late as they may continue feeding until the grub supply is gone and/or the poison begins to work. (so your lawn continues to get trashed in the meantime).
Unless you want to trap and kill the raccoon (depending on your state laws) or install an electric fence (to keep the wildlife out, provided it is legal in your area), there isn't much you can do. You will have to plan ahead for next year and in the meantime, utilize the toxicant free services of your volunteer pest controller.
I would like to see the prints, do you have an object in the image to show scale, like a coin?
