QuestionI have a zucchini plant that continues to flower and produce, but once the zucchini's get more than an inch or two they turn yellow and die. I have seen info about the squash borer but the stems and leaves of the plant still seem healthy, so I don't know if that is what it could be.
Answersounds more like a watering problem. squash will rot easy on the ground if kept too wet.
it's not as simple as "water everyday or once a week". each type plant has its own watering requirements. watering frequency depends on many factors(sun exposure, type of plant, wind, day temps, indoors VS outdoor location, etc.).
plants in the ground need watering only during prolonged dry spells. once a week may be too often during cloudy or cooler weather. may be too little during hot sunnu weather.
good luck.
