Questionhere is my problems. in my garden we have 7 humminbird feeders of various sizes. my problem concerns the ones with spigots on the ends so the birds can fly right up to them and get the sugar water i put out for them. in the past couple of weeks we have had dozens of bees come to these feeders and drain all the sugar water out of them. i have gone from filling the feeders once a week to every 3 or 4 days now. in the past, i have tried using almond extract on the ends of the feeders to ward away the bees. it has worked up until now. do you have any other ideas i can use to deter the bees away without harming the hummingbirds? any help would be appreciated.
Answerthe bees first love the sugars and thats what attracts them !
You can purchase a bee trap and fill it with fruit jucices and place the trap in a opposite area of the bird traps where they are away from the original traps !
Bees love the Hum bird liquid so counter with a bee trap or put all the traps away for the summer !
