QuestionI need to find out if the termite treatment for my house is an effective way of killing them.
I recently found termites in my house. The company I selected to treat them is locally owned and has been in business for nearly 50 years. They have had no complaints to the BBB, state Attorney General or State Ag Dept, which licences exterminators in our state.
When they gave me the estimate, they said they would drill holes 18" apart through the concrete (porch, patio and air conditioner slab)into the dirt below and dig a trench around the house to pump the chemical into the ground.
When they actually did the work, they drilled holes about 18" apart in the concrete and in the dirt all the way around the house, them pumped chemicals into the holes. There was no trench. I questioned that, since termites can get through a hairline crack and they are leaving a gap of 18". They told me, "The chemicals spread out underground to form a barrier." I don't see how they can know what chemicals will do underground.
Is this an effective way of treating termites?
Thanks
Jo
Answerthe product they should of used is called Termidor #1
#2 drilling is correct but they should also trench all around the house as it will form a 2nd barrier !
I also suggest installing termite bait stations all around the house ! Why they monitor and it sterilizes the colony !
1,500 to install and quarterly inspections for 100.00 each
Use the Advance termite baiting system its the bestout there ! Termidor and the Advance baiting system is your best protection
