QuestionI have a problem with small rodents tunneling through my garden. I believe they are voles. I am wondering if Sonic Rodent Repellers work. The type that looks like a big green garden stake that is pushed into the ground. They take 4 "D" size batteries to produce a vibration that is suppose to scare rodents away. Does this type of product really work?
AnswerThere is no scientific evidence that I am aware of that ultrasonics work to control wildlife damage. To learn more visit http://www.wildlifedamagecontrol.com/ultrasound.htm
One key problem is that most animals can't even hear in the ultrasonic range.
Even the animal rights group, The Humane Society, a group who would love nothing more than to say ultrasound works, has cautioned people about its effectiveness.
Sorry, there is no magic in this business.
