Question I live in Kentucky. I have various types of flowers. I have been having problems with something eating me daiseys. It is at least 6-8 inches off the ground. It sometimes is the whole plant nipped off and now they are eating the leaves off. I do not see rabbit droppings and does not seem to be a cut worm. I am at a loss as to what it is or what to do to save the flowers. They have also eaten my salvia but again I see no droppings to identify what is doing the eating.
AnswerHi Paula
If you figure out what the animal is I may be able to help.
Deer or ground hog are my guess if you have ruled out rabbit. Ground hog are day active and you might see him. The deer are likely at night. Rabbit might be either. Deer leave easy to see tracks if they walk on soft ground. I make deterrents for the deer that I tell you about if that is your culprit. Rabbit or ground hog are best live trapped in cage traps and relocated.
