QuestionMy apple trees were planted last June, they were about 2 -3 ft. I wrapped them up with landscape fabric and insulated them with leaves. During the winter mice/moles or something got in and ate the bark off the trees. We live where it gets to -45 -50 Celius, will my trees survive? Is there something I can do to help them now? And what is eating them and what can I do?
Thank you,
AnswerDepending on the height of the gnawing and the depth of your snow, it could have been caused by voles or rabbits.
Visit http://www.wildlifedamagecontrol.com/solutions.htm click on rabbits and/or voles.
I would love to get pictures of the damage. e-mail me at

as for the survivability of the trees. I only deal with aniamls, not plants.
You would know more about that than me.
