Plum
I have plum trees and last year I was told they have scales. I have treated them with an oil fungus spray as the HD people have told me. However, I noticed yesterday that there is a jelly like substance coming out from the bark. The trees also have produced knots where new growth takes place. It is has begun to bloom and grow leaves since the weather has warmed. I live in NW florida. thank you
AnswerHi Renee, Your plum has borers inside the trunk. A quick fix is to take a sewing needle and poke it into the sap area and it will kill the borer.
