QuestionHello Ma'am,
I have a Dracaena Sanderiana plant which is around 9 months old and I have 5 sticks. But a week ago that 2 of its sticks started turning yellow although the rest of them are absolutely fine. I change the water in every 2 weeks and trim their roots if needed. Please suggest me something.
Thanking you in advance
Nalin
AnswerDear Nalin, Dracaena sanderiana or "lucky bamboo" as we call it here although it is not a bamboo,is best grown in good light, but not direct sun, and they are usually grown in water. The guides I have read suggest changing the water every 3-7 days, so I would change the water more often, and make sure that there is no white buildup around the inside of the pot. Those would indicate salt deposits and that among other things may be a factor in the yellowing of your plant. If you do have the white buildup, simply scrub it off and put the plant back in. Basically, to fix this plant, I would clean the pot well (just plain water), and put the plant back in after removing any yellow parts or any sticks that are getting soft. Change the water every 3-7 days, and keep in a bright area. It should perk up pretty soon. These plants can recover quickly. Let me know if you have any more questions and I will be glad to help. (I have family in New Delhi!) Good luck, Melissa
