QuestionHi Ms Melissa,
My Peace Lily, of which I've grown for about 6 months is experiencing yellowing & browning of leaves. I'm aware that yellowing could be caused by excess watering and over-fertilization. Hence, I've not fertilize the plant for months and only water when the leaves appear slightly droopy(till the water seeps out). I also kept it from direct sunlight. However, the problem still persist. Appreciate your advice pls and apologies for my persistent gardening questions
AnswerDear Alfredo, The part about not keeping it in direct sunlight is correct, but peace lily or Spathophyllum is one of those few plants that almost can't be overwatered. They prefer to have the soil moist at all times. As a matter of fact, a few years ago, the peace lily was one of the most popular plants for growing in a bowl of water with a fish living in it. So, yes light on the fertilizer, but I would go ahead and give it a feeding now, remove all the yellow leaves and keep this plant moist and it will perk up in no time. Be sure not to leave it in standing water, but don't let the plant get droopy. I look forward to your questions, Alfredo. Also, I will send you more information on the hoya when I get it. Melissa
