QuestionI have grown a Meyers lemon in a large container for many years with great success. Living in Ct. I bring it indoors in the fall and keep it in a south window. It appears healthy with abundant fruit and flowers.
It has always had scale which I clean off with alcohol as much as possible. Now I see a clear sticky substance (frass?) on the surface of leaves and on the floor around the plant but not necessarily below leaves with scale. What should I be looking for and what can I do about it?
Thank you in advance for your help.
AnswerHi Lois, You tree has aphids, it may be in a place that has bad air circulation. There are insecticides that will rid your plant of these bugs. Or you can check out Atomic Grow that is organic and it will make you tree very healthy so bugs go elsewhere. kathy
