QuestionI have yellow leaves on my holly tree (Nellie) in SC Hilton Head
AnswerHi Liz:
Yellow leaves on an established ornamental/tree usually indicates a soil/root issue, especially if those leaves are pretty much over most of the tree/shrub. This could be most likely a potential nutrient imbalance (fertilizer). It may need a bit of plant food. You can contact your local county Extension office and talk to them about getting a soil test done. This can ID which nutrient is needed. This service is usually free through the Extension office (usually located in the courthouse in your county seat). You can also visit with your nursery/garden center about a good fertilizer to use.
