We have 2 paper shell pecan trees which are about 6 yrs. old and I've noticed the bark peeling away with a sort of brown rust in between.  What is this and how do I treat it?dik2e

A few additional questions.
(1) How does the tree look overall? Thinning branches? or Good full head?

(2) Any leaf spots?

(3) Do you have an idea how long this bark area has been present? When did you see it first?
