QuestionI've had my Aloe plant for a little over eight months. It was doing fine until recently. The leaves began turning brown at the tips. For awhile, it remained at just the tips, so I ignored it. Now however some of the bottom leaves have turned an almost fire-charred black and begun to break off. I've checked all my books and have not found a solution. What's worse, some of the newer leaves have begun to show the same problem. Can you please help? I'd hate to lose the whole plant.
AnswerCJ:
Overwatering can be a big issue on these plants. Be sure that the soil drains good. These do not need much water. They often thrive on neglect. Prefers filtered, but bright light, like a kitchen window facing east.
If possible try to remove those affected leaves that may wither or rot away.
