QuestionHello Dr. Vann. I have two questions that I would like answers to. I have a magnolia bush. About 30% of the leaves are starting to curl. What can I do to prevent this problem? Also - I have a white magnolia vine on its third season in the Chicago area. It has really taken off and grown beautifully on the brick and looks great - however it has yet to bloom. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you so much for your time. Jeanne
AnswerJeanne:
A couple of things to consider on the leaf curling. (1) Have any weed killers (herbicides) been appled to the plant or to the adjacent area? and (2) check lower leaf surface for any "critteres" insects that might be located along the center vein(s). I am not sure on the blooming situation. Suggest giving the folks a call at your garden center/nursery.
